Surah Al-Ma’idah means “The Meal” or “The Banquet.” This surah takes its name from verses 112–115, which recount the story of a meal sent down from the heavens by Allah(S.W.T.) at the request of Prophet ʿIsa (Jesus) and his disciples, serving as a sign affirming the truth of his message.
