Surah Al-Falaq English Translation

ALLAH in the name of The Most Affectionate, the Merciful.

  1. Say you, ‘I take refuge with the Lord of Daybreak.
  2. From the evil of all creatures;
  3. And from the evil of the darkening one when it sets.
  4. And from the evil of those women who blow in the knots.
  5. And from the evil of the envier when he envies me.

Regarding the revelation of Surah al Falaq, Prophet Muhammad H said in one of His hadiths:

“Allah has revealed verses the like of which you have never seen: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the people, and: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.” (Tirmidhi)

Surah Al-Nâs English Translation

ALLAH in the name of The Most Affectionate, the Merciful.

  1. Say you, I came in the refuge of the Lord of all mankind,
  2. King of all,
  3. God of all,
  4. From the evil of him who whispers evil designs in the heart and slinks away.
  5. Those who whisper in the hearts of mankind.
  6. Jinn and men.

Surah Al-Nas (Mankind) is the 114th and last surah(chapter) of the Quran (The Muslim holy book). It is a short six-verse invocation, asking Allah for protection from the Shaitan.

Hazrat Aisha J reported that: “Before sleeping Prophet Muhammad H would recite the last three Surahs of Quran (Surah AL- Ikhlas (112), Surah AL-Falkaq (113) and Surah Al-Nas (114)) and then would blow it onto His hands and then wipe the hands all over His body.” (Bukhari)

Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq I has said that whoever recites this Surah in his house every night, will be kept safe from Jinnaat and the evil designs of Shaitan.
